Now, we move on to Beijing. I flew from Hong Kong to Beijing on Dragon Air, the in-country
airline of Cathay Pacific. Beijing is very particular about who gets to fly within
their country, particularly which U.S. (spy)planes can fly the skies.
But, on to the the landmarks. This the Monument to the People's Heroes in
the infamous Tiananmen Square. It was the rally point of the young democratic
protestors during the 1989 occupation of Tiananmen. The Square itself is huge:
covering almost 99 acres, enough people can stand in it at the New year's Celebration
that it is visible from space.
